The Homa-Bay County security committee has launched a crackdown exercise at the beaches and Islands of Lake Victoria to arrest foreigners who sneaked into the country through the Lake without permits.

The crackdown aims at flashing out illegal foreigners in the county who are staying and doing business at the beaches and in islands without being approved to be in the country by the ministry of interior.

Homa-Bay County Commissioner who is the committee chairperson Moses Lilan says the crackdown exercise is ongoing at the beaches and in the islands of Suba North and Suba South constituencies where the majority of illegal foreigners are suspected to be hiding.

Speaking to the press in his office, the county Commissioner says that the security committee has involved the government agencies to assist the security team to arrest the illegal foreigners.

Mr. Lilan calls on the beach management leadership and members of the public to work closely with security agencies to identify those foreigners so that they can be arrested and arraigned for being in the country illegally.
