Parents who have children below five years in Kisumu county have been urged to take their children to be vaccinated against measles which has now broke out in the western side of the country.
Spwaking to Sky fm, Dr. Fred Oluoch who is an officer in the Kisumu county ministry of health says that they have rolled out the vaccination process in the county to help prevent the disease from killing their children.
On his side, Dr. Gregory Ganda who is the secretary general in the Kisumu county ministry of health, he says that since the outbreak of covid-19, parents have been reluctant in taking their children for vaccination since the government has thrown more weight in dealing with the virus and this he says that has led to many children in western Kenya being affected by measles.
