END OF 10 DAYS MEASLES VACCINATION

Over 30% of children below five years have been vaccinated against measles, what the health officers now says has surpassed their target. The vaccination has been going on for 10 days and came to an end yesterday.

Speaking to Sky fm, the officer in charge of public health in Homabay Sub-County Charles Okatch said that they were targeting in the county was 160,000, a number that has been surpassed by far by the number of children who have been vaccinated. He explains that about 130% of all the children have gotten the vaccine in Homabay.

Okatch added that the move will help in preventing the children from contracting the disease. He urged the parents who did not manage to have their children vaccinated to take them to the nearest health facility for them to be vaccinated.
