MAN DIES IN A BAR ROOM IN MURANG’A

A man aged 50 years has been found dead in a room in Rurago bar in Murang’a at around 12.50am. The man identified as Fredrick Opiyo is said to have gotten into the bar and booked a room at around 9.00pm and was later joined by a lady identified as Mary Mwende aged 35 years where they took supper together.

According to Mary, the late Fredrick entered the bathroom after supper and emerged a few minutes later and requested her that they go to bed but she seeked to take a bath first. She says that she heard the man groaning while she was in the bathroom and when she came out, she found he had removed his clothes and was struggling to breath.

On his side, the night guard at Rurago bar Stephen Muriithi Mbau, Mary alerted her at around 12.50am that her boyfriend whom they were with in the room had passed on and he rushed to the scene together with the lodging attendant Bibiana Mulee and they found the man lying dead on the bed naked.

Stephen reported the case at Maragua police station and police officers from the station together with DCI officers from Murang’a South led by OCS Maragua CI Cleopas Juma visited the scene. One used and two unused condoms and one empty satchet of Vega 100 (Viagra) were recovered from the scene. the body has been transferred to Murang’a Level five Hospital Mourtary awaiting postmortem.
