Farmers and workers in sugar factories are passing through alot of troubles given that the companies are not doing well. This is according to the Muhoroni sub-county sugarcane farmers association chairman Jorim Odada.

Jorim says that this comes following a case that was filed in court by the national secretary of the sugar factory workers Francis Wangara, rejecting the leasing of sugar factories. He said that factories like Muhoroni, Chemelil, Nzoia and Sony cannot do well due to insufficient funds as he pleaded with those working in those factories to urge Wangara to withdraw the case or they oust him.

On his side, Wangara told sugarcane farmers to be informed that he is not the only one who filed a case since there are other organisations that also filed cases. He said that he is not against leasing but he is waiting for the cases that are before the court to be determined.
