Farmers Cry Foul of Their Cane

Sugarcane farmers from Sibuoche in Uriri sub-county have raised complaints to Sukari Industry which is the manufacturer of Ndhiwa sukari for failing to harvest their cane as they had agreed.

Led by their chairman Jobik Okoth Otieno, the farmers said that they have been passing through alot in the hands of the factory which has failed to cut their cane that have taken a very long time in the farm. Jobik said that cane occupying 3 acres of land and they are now drying up.

They cried that their cane are now getting destroyed at a moment they thought the company will cut it down and pay them so that they can get to pay school fees for their children.

They urged the factory’s leadership to come out and help them out so that they can avoid losses.
