Olare Residents Cry Foul Over Increased Goats Theft

Olare residents in Kamenya sub-location, Rangwe sub-county, Homabay County are crying over the re-emergence of goats theft. The residents say that the theft has now gone to another level mostly those goats that are tethered in the grazing fields, what is suspected that is being done by some people who use a toyota probox.
The residents say that they have experienced huge losses due to the theft, something that has also affected their living standards. According to one of the residents identified as Denish Odiwuor Adimo, ten goats and four sheep were stollen in his home last week at midday by people who have not yet been identified who appeared in a probox and took off with the livestock.
Speaking in Olare, Adimo said that the livestock stolen from him can earn him a very large amount of up to Ksh. 70000. He went ahead to say that in the year 2019, he lost several livestock through such kind of theft, and therefore they are urging the security details in the area to investigate the matter that has been rampant in the area and not even a suspect has ever been arrested.
Sky FM looked for Kamenya sub-location Assistant Chief Salome Obop on the issue and she confirmed that it is true that the residents have reported cases to her and she is working with the police to ensure that this comes to an end and the thieves are arrested.
