Migori County women representative Dr. Pamela Odhiambo has told residents living around the Osiri goldmine in Nyatike sub-county to move to different places that are not affected by earth tremor so as to avoid deaths that may happen in the near future.

Speaking to journalists in Migori town, Pamela said that the earth tremor that was witnessed at Osiri goldmines should not be taken lightly, and the residents should vacate the place as fast as possible. He said that mining may have already been done underground below people’s houses and the houses therefore lack strong foundation.

She went further to tell all leaders who are seeking elective posts in the County to practice peaceful politics and refrain from uttering words that can make people vacate the ODM party. He said this refuting claims by some leaders in the county that they have already been given ODM party tickets for next year’s elections.

He finished by urging Migori residents to ensure that they have national identity cards and register as voters ahead of next year’s general elections.
