Migori Matatu Sector Boycotts Paying Taxes

Matatu owners in Migori County kicked off their planned demonstration yesterday. This comes after county government failed to adhere to the five agreements that they had with the county under governor Obado.

The chairman of the matatu owners in the county George Rarieda said that the demonstration will go on daily and there is no any matatu that will pay taxes to the county government till their pleas are heard.

Rarieda said that as those working in the matatu sector in Migori County, they agreed with the county to build for them the Migori bus park, connect electricity at the bus park among other three things which up to date, the county hasn’t put into practise.
