A young teenager studying at Nanga Primary school yesterday committed suicide by hanging herself at around 10 at night in their house in Nyalenda.
This was confirmed by the Nyalenda chief Lena Jobita. Lena said that according to the girls grandmother who owns mama safi hotel, the girl did not want to go to school even though being forced, and she decided to commit suicide.
The class six girl came back home claiming that she had been sent away from school which was not the case. Chief Lena pleaded with Nyalenda residents especially parents to be close to their children so as to know more about issues affecting their children to minimize such cases.
The girl’s body was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and referral hospital.
