No Drugs in Hospitals Around Mining Sites

Nyarombo goldminers in Awendo sub-county through their chairperson has urged the Migori county government to avail drugs in hospitals around the mining sites in the county.

Speaking to journalists, the chairperson Victor Otieno Obuya wants the county government of Migori through the ministry of health to provide for them drugs in the hospitals surrounding them to ensure that when an accident occurs in the mining sites then they get quick medical attention.

Victor said that it is very shameful that when they go to seek medical attention in the nearby health centres such as Dede dispensary, they find no drugs and they are told to go buy them from the chemist.

He went ahead to urge the national government and the Migori County government to find a way of how goldminers with equipment to facilitate their activities since for a very long time, they have been struggling on their own despite paying taxes.
