Security department in Homabay county in conjunction with the national government and other governmental organisations today have launched an initiative of ensuring that illicit brews are fully swept out in Homabay County, an initiative that has been dubbed Rapid Result Initiative (RRI).
Speaking to journalists in his office in Homabay town, County commissioner Moses Lilan said that this initiative that will be in force for a period of 30 days led by the county security officers together with other organisations such as NACADA, Kenya Bureau of Statistics (KEBS) among others.
He went ahead to say that they must put the initiative into practice as required since Homabay County is at risk of rising illicit brewing since it borders counties that border other countries such as Uganda and Tanzania and therefore such products can easily get into the county through Lake Victoria.
He finished by saying that the initiative will be put in place in all the eight sub-counties in Homabay County.
