Bodies of Two Students Who Drowned in River Migori Found

The bodies of two Mwache Secondary school students who drowned in river Migori three days ago have been found two kilometers from where they were swept by the waters.

Confirming that, Nyarongi sub-location assistant chief George Owiti said that they found the two bodies today morning. The two students drowned in the river on Sunday while trying to cross the river after attending a church service, before they were swept by the waters.

The students aged 14 and 18 years and who were in form one and four respectively, were studying at Mwache secondary school in Kuria West.


Chief George urged his subjects not to attempt crossing the river at this moment when huge rains are being witnessed in Migori county. The two bodies were taken to Migori County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
