FUEL PRICE TO REDUCE THIS WEEK

Written by on October 14, 2021

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga assured Kenyans that fuel prices in the country will drop this week to the delight of many.

This claim has been circulating in different newspapers and social media.

We looked into the issue this week by reaching out different petrol stations as well as fuel consumers and found out it has not dropped and this is not true

The former Prime Minister said this last week on Saturday 02/10/2021 in Bungoma where he met the residents accompanied by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli

According to Hon. Raila Odinga, plans were underway by the government to reduce the prices come this week something that he affirmed the residents and Kenyans at large.

The ODM Party leader has in a previous statement noted how Kenyans are struggling to put food on the table due to the pandemic and that the situation has been worsened by increased fuel prices.

“Kenyans who have been struggling to put food on the table since the onset of the pandemic now stand to have their collective plight worsened by the increased fuel prices. The prices should be lowered immediately to cushion the ordinary Wanainchi.” Said Raila.

Since this has not come to pass as promised by Raila, many Kenyans now take it as one of the many strategies used by politicians to win votes. As at now no fuel price has reduced.
