Low Voter Registration Turn-Out

As the third week of the voter registration process comes to an end, only 13,800 new voters have been registered in Homabay county. This is a number that is very low compared to the IEBC target, which was to register 65,000 voters by the end of Thursday 21st October.
Speaking to Sky FM at the IEBC office in Homabay, the county IEBC officer Michael Kosgei said that it’s a very big shock to them since the number of those coming out to register is too low, not even coming close to half of their target as a commission.
He also said that they are really surprised by how a majority of the voters in Homabay county have changed their polling stations.
