Leaders in Kisumu county have welcomed the creation of Kadibo sub county by the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, bringing to eight in total the number of sub counties in Kisumu.

In a special gazette notice dated 29th October, Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Dr Fred Matiang’i said the new sub county will have its headquarters in Rabuor.

Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development Ken Obura has led leaders in applauding the move by the government saying it’s a big sigh of relief.

CAS Obura says the newly established administrative unit will boost service delivery to wananchi and also enhance coordination of government services.

Speaking in Kisumu, CAS Obura says the new sub county will bring to an end grievances by local residents who complained of traveling for long distances to access government services in Awasi  which is the headquarter of Nyando sub county.

Obura says services like issuance of ID cards, birth certificates etc. will now be closer at Rabuor meaning that people will feel the presence of the government near them.
