Migori Matatu Owners Association are on Kuria West MP Mathias Robi’s neck to give them their share of ksh500,000 that was given to them by the Deputy President William Ruto during his visit to Migori county last week.
Speaking in his office, the Association chairman George Rarieda said that after a meeting with the Deputy President, he left a sum of Ksh. 2 million to Kuria West MP, Mathias Robi, of which Ksh500000 was to be given to the Matatu owners. Rarieda said that after taking the money, the Mp left without saying how the Matatu owners would get their share of the money. This prompted the Matatu owners to follow the MP to his residence, where they requested him to come out and give them their share of the money.
Deputy President giving handouts has led to misunderstanding between groups such as boda boda. This issue has been condemned by Rongo MP Hon. Paul Abuor who warned citizens not to let the money given out lead to disunity and make them sell their rights during this campaign period.
