The National Government has promised to support and improve skills of different citizens more so those in the juakali sector. This was made clear by the Permanent Secretary in the State Department for Youth Affairs Charles Sunkuli, while speaking at the Kisumu Polytechnic where individuals with different skills were showcasing their skills.
On top of that, he promised that they will support those in the private sector, giving an example of those working at Kibuye market and how they can access government funds to help boost their businesses. Otherwise, he chalenged them to come up with SACCOs since they can only get government funds in a group.
He finished by saying that they have come up with an initiative of visiting the three main cities in the country i.e Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa so as to witness the skills possessed by youths and come up with how they can be supported.
The PS was accompanied by the Managing Director of the Kenya National Federation of Juakali Association Richard Muteti who applauded the initiative as he said that the initiative will boost the number of youths securing employment in the country.
