‘Help Us Build Sheds’, Othoro Potato Traders to Homabay County.

Some of the sweet potato traders in Othoro market in Kabondo Kasipul constituency are urging the county government of Homabay together with their Mp to help them build sheds that can protect them from the scorching sun and rains as well.

Speaking to Sky FM at Othoro market, one of the traders Rose Ogola requested the county government led by Governor Cyprian Otieno Awiti to help them raise such sheds which will enable them go about their businesses without any hinderence.

Miriam Akinyi who has been selling sweet potatoes at the market for the past 20 years decried losses they are experiencing considering the low prices that middlemen who take the potatoes to Nairobi buy the potatoes from them. She went ahead to urge the county government to come up with a way of standardizing sweet potato prices in the county so that they can also improve their income.
