A Matatu Conductor Perishes in a Grisly Road Accident

One person died as many others survived severe injuries in a road accident that involved two vehicles and a motorbike in Homabay town.

In the accident, a Nissan conductor lost his life on the spot. The accident occurred at Sophia centre along Homabay-Rongo road.

Confirming the incident, Arujo location chief Bob Lang’o said that the accident occurred after the said Nissan tried to overtake a probox heading to Rongo town.

Bob went ahead to say that the Nissan hit the probox and killed the conductor on the spot as it was trying to escape hitting a motorbike that was approaching.

He said that the Nissan’s driver lost direction and hit the probox before it swerved out of the road and hit a nearby health centre. the conductor’s body was transferred to Homabay County Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem. The passengers who survived injuries were transferred to different health facilities in Homabay town.

The Nissan was taken to Homabay police station as investigations continue.
