The newly elected Chairman of Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) Charles Ochome has dedicated his win to the support he received from private schools in Western region.
Ochome says he emerged the winner after getting massive support from the region as he promised to engage the government for the betterment of education in private schools.
He says the race was tight but through God’s intervention he carried the day and will not let down the private schools fraternity.
Ochome who spoke to the press at the Kisumu International Airport upon his arrival after the win had served as the Secretary in the Association.
He singled out Migori County for no show to participate in the Association matters.
Ochome says his task will entail bringing private schools in Migori County into the Association for smooth running of education in the country.
He hailed the togetherness the private schools have shown in the past noting that it is only through unity that they can push their concerns for address by the national government.
In the recent past, private schools have been pushing for recognition through bursary allocation to learners in their schools.
