Kenya Forest Ranger Attacked by a Logger

A 45 year old Kenya Forest Service ranger is undergoing serious pains at the Homabay County Referral Hospital. This is after a man who went to cut wood at Lambwe forest where he works beat him up thoroughly.
the officer identified as Samwel Dede was attacked using a panga on Sunday evening when he found the suspect identified as Otieno Osindi cutting wood at the Lambwe forest.
According to Lambwe West Chief Daniel Obure, corporal Dete was cut three times on the head, arm and his ear. Obure said that the man was armed with a panga, which he was using to cut wood for charcoal at the time he came across the officer who was manning the forest.
He said that the suspect took the officers riffle and disappeared after committing the crime. other officers later found the riffle dumped in the forest just a few meters from the crime scene.
The incident was confirmed by Mbita sub-county Assistant County commissioner Abraham Kemboi who said that they have commenced investigations and search for the suspects whose whereabouts are not known. he finished by warning those staying around lambwe forest to refrain from cutting wood from the forest.
