Kisumu County Government through the Ministry of Health launched 30 million drugs that will be supplied to all health centres in Kisumu County. The drugs were officially launched by the Kisumu deputy Governor Dr. Mathews Owili.
Dr. Owili said that lack of drugs in hospitals was brought by the changes that were made in the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) as he promised that Kisumu residents will now get drugs without any hinderance.
Secretary general in the Ministry of Health Kisumu County Dr. Gregory Ganda said that the drugs will be supplied to small health facilities in the villages as he confirmed that they had already supplied drugs to the big health facilities.
Dr. Ganda urged Kisumu residents to register with National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to ensure that they get treatment easily whenever they are sick.
