Matiang’i Has Promised Thorough Investigation Over Kimira-Oluch Irrigation Scheme Conflict

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has promised thorough investigations and bringing to an end, the conflicts surrounding Oluch-Kimira Irrigation scheme. He promised the arrest of those brewing conflicts over the project that is found in Rangwe and Karachuonyo sub-counties in Homabay County.
Speaking to the residents of Kakisinja in Kochia, Rangwe sub-county during the burial of Mzee Samuel Aduwa, Matiang’i said that the conflicts surrounding the project have reached his office and they are determined to ensure that the conflicts surrounding the project that has so far consumed Ksh. 7.2 billion comes to an end.
He went ahead to urge residents and politicians in Homabay County not to disrupt peace when they will arrest those that will be found to have a hand in the conflicts, as he promised that with his capacity, he will ensure that the people are arrested and they face the wrath of the law.
On politics, Matiang’i urged Nyanza residents to unite since he already talked to Kisii residents and they agreed to fully support ODM leader Raila Odinga in his quest to become the 5th president of Kenya.
