Two Suspects Arrested in Connection to Animals Attack in Homabay County

Police in Homabay County arrested two suspected linked to the killing of 18 cows and injuring another 120 in Ndhiwa sub-county on Sunday. The suspects were arrested by Ndhiwa police on Sunday night after a serious search in more than five in the area on Sunday night.

More than 30 farmers in the area counting huge losses after unknown people stormed the area and stabbed the animals with sharp objects, as the reason behind such act remained a mystery.

According to Homabay County Commissioner Moses Lilan, the two suspects were arrested on Monday morning and taken to Ndhiwa police station as investigations continue. He said that they have been following such people since Tuesday last week just after such act happened in Waondo area and Kayanja sub-location in Mbita sub-county where 32 cows were killed and 59 left with injuries.

Lilan said that they are going on with investigations to ensure that they arrest more suspects who may still be free. During the arrest of the two suspects, police found one spear and three pangas which are believed to have been used in committing the crime.

He requested netizens to work hand in hand with them and give them hints about such kind of people anytime they have information. He affirmed that they will conduct their investigations and search as far as Migori and Kisumu counties where the suspects might be hiding.
