Suspect Surrenders to Police In Fear of Mob Justice

A 26 year old man accused of slashing his parents and sister in Ndhiwa sub-county surrendered himself to the police. He is said to have slashed his parents and her sister using a panga and left them with serious injuries, an incident that occurred in Ombasa village, West Kwabwai location, Ndhiwa sub-county in Homabay County.
The suspect identified as Pancras Oguma has been in the hideout since Tuesday after attacking his family claiming that they don,t recognize him as one of them.
It is confirmed that the man chopped his mother’s hand and thigh just moments after attacking her sister, claiming that she was loved more. He also attacked his father who tried to stop him from committing such crime.
According to the area chief Joseph Makoteng’, the suspect tried to attack them as well when they attempted to arrest him in his hideouts in a sugarcane plantation, where he chopped off the hand of one of the chief’s men.
The man is said to have surrendered to the police at Ndhiwa police station after realizing that an angry mob was after her. Ndhiwa sub-county police commander Paul Rioba said that the man has been held at Ndhiwa police station as investigations continue.
