The committee in charge of implementing development projects in Homabay county visited Suba-North and South yesterday to access the progress of the construction of a 74 kilometers road which is expected to be done by the year 2024 and will cost a total of Ksh. 2.9 billion.

The tarmac road will cover Mbita, Sindo, Kiabuya till Sori Karungu in Nyatike sub-county in the neighbouring Migori county and is aimed at easing transport that has been hectic in the area for a long time.

Speaking during the visit, Homabay county commissioner Moses Lilan who also doubles up as the chair of the committee said that the construction which was launched officially in June last year will be completed by January 2024.

He went ahead to say that they resorted to accessing the construction of the road to ensure that the contractor in charge uses the funds allocated appropriately.
