Plant Tress To Conserve The Environment-Migori Residents Told.

Green Border Movements which is a Non-Governmental Organization which is dedicated in educating people on the importance of planting trees and conserving the environment has urged Migori County residents to come out and utilize the current rainfall to plant trees in their homes.

Speaking to Sky FM, the NGOs officer Mr. Leonard Okumu said that if the residents plant trees in bulk, then that will help in conserving the environment and in turn improve food security as the rains also increase. He went ahead to say that the current stalemate over high food prices is as a result of less rainfall which has been brought by lack of trees in our environments.

He urged Migorians to plant trees in large capacity so as to have a healthy environment characterized with good rainfall as he said that Migori county is terribly behind in terms of tree planting as he affirmed that only 1% of trees have been planted in Migori County.
