Nine Burundi Citizens Arrested In Migori

Police in Kuria West have arrested and detained a total of nine people from the republic of Burundi. The nine who were arrested at the Kenya-Tanzania border in Isbania Migori county are said to be in the country illegally.

Confirming the arrest, Kuria-West police commander Clearty Kimahio said that they got wind from locals that the Burundians were in the country illegally and were residing at Summer Spring area in Isbania and when thry got there at around 1am, they found and arrested them.

He said that the foreigners who comprises four adults and five children were detained at Isbania police station for questioning so as to ascertain how they found themselves in the country. The nine comprise 34 year old Sabi Mani, 23 year old Nasro Hassan, 19 year old Kuirezza Godfar, 20 year old Nuhu Hassan, 13 year old Kugumana Erick, nine year old Kevin Geraneza, three year old Nahikuritimana Emalina and Nasro Hazma and six months old Neyokushiya Daudi.

Kimahio also affirmed that security has been beefed at the Kenya-Tanzania border in Isbania as investigations are underway to establish how the nine came into the country.
