ALTERED: This image purporting to show Bomet Woman Rep Linet Toto with Rigathi Gachagua’s son is fabricated

The original image features Linet Toto standing alone.

This image posted on Twitter claiming to show Bomet Woman Rep Linet Chepkorir alias ‘Toto’, posing for a photo with Kevin Rigathi; son to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is ALTERED.

“Rigathi Gachagua’s Son with Linet Toto. Our little Brain @Linet Toto be very Keen with this people . They’re hungry wolves,” read’s the photo’s caption.

The image was shared online on October 17, 2022, a few days after Kevin accompanied his father and other leaders including Linet Toto to Rwanda for the Youth Connekt Africa Summit

The summit was hosted by Rwandan President Paul Kagame, with its main aim being to harness economic opportunities for the youth and to empower them to contribute to the continent’s socio-economic growth.

Other Kenyan leaders who attended the summit include; MPs Sylvanus Osoro, Ndindi Nyoro, Mohammed Ali, Pamela Njoki, Vincent Kawaya, John Paul Mwirigi, Ken Aramat and Karugu Thangwa among others.

But is the photo authentic?

We performed a reverse image search on the image and established that it was altered.

The original photo was published on October 13, 2022 shortly before Toto and the delegation left for Rwanda.

In the original image, Toto is seen standing alone and not with Gachagua’s son.
