IMPOSTER: Police Spokesperson Dr Resila Onyango does not have any Facebook Account

A Facebook account bearing the National Police Service (NPS) Spokesperson’s name Resila Onyango is an IMPOSTER.
The Facebook account has on numerous occasions been seen sharing posts claiming to be those from the NPS Spokesperson.
In a post dated 17th November 2022 for example, the author took the position of Dr Onyango in congratulating the graduate police constables who were shortlisted to join a different special course.

We conducted a keyword search on Facebook to establish which is the legitimate Dr Onyango Facebook account but realised that numerous accounts bearing the NPS Spokesperson’s name exist. We also found out that Dr Onyango does not have a verified Facebook account which prompted us to dig deeper.

Through their verified Twitter handle, the National Police Service has flagged a number of Facebook accounts impersonating the Police Spokesperson as fake.
The post also went ahead to confirm that Dr Onyango does not operate any social media accounts which therefore confirms that the Facebook account we are fact-checking is FAKE.

The National Police Service also confirmed that official communication from their Spokesperson will always be made through their verified accounts.
Therefore, a Facebook account bearing the National Police Service (NPS) Spokesperson’s name Resila Onyango is an IMPOSTER.
