Police have netted 531 kilograms of bhang in Migori, with an estimated street value of over Ksh.15 million.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), a 26-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Buembu, Migori County.
Molinter Adhiambo Juma was arrested in a sting operation conducted by detectives from the DCI and their K9 Isebania Border Post counterparts.
“A woman implicated in the trafficking of 531Kg of bhang which was earlier today seized at a home compound within Buembu village in Migori is in police custody,” the DCI said.
Detectives added that 9 sacks of cannabis sativa sticks and another 8 containing the unrefined drug were found at the home.
Meanwhile, an unidentified male suspect fled the scene, which has since been established as the home of one Osege Odhiambo.
A search for both Osege and the runaway male suspect is ongoing.
