HOMABAY COUNTY CLEAN WATER ACHIEVEMENT

At long last the Villagers in Owang` Arujo location, situated in Homabay town sub county in Homabay county got clean water as they have always desired.

According to them, lack of water affects women in a very negative way especially during their menses and the cleaning at home

The county Government led by Glady wanga the County Boss initiated the process of digging a water site which the women embraced and now feels elevated about.

While speaking to the media the women lauded their governor for the step that they say now impact their lives positively.

“ I am  happy about what our leaders did today, my fellow women are so elated about it because they won’t take much time walking for long distances in search of clean water fit for consumption. We want to drink clean and safe water even the old women are happy to receive this clean water and we want to clean every mess that has been caused due to lack of clean water for domestic use.”   Says Karen Achieng Origi, a resident in Kanyada Katuma. Owang` Village in Homabay County.

On the other hand is Moline Akoth who resides in Arujo Ward. She says we used to strain for water which we used to fetch from Kobudho-maji mbili, children reach home from school at 6;00 pm and run for such a long distance and the dark also catches with them on their way back.

“Until now we are so excited because we have clean water, Madam governor Gladys Wanga in Connection with our in Arujo ward Mca Tony Otheo has provided us with clean water since we used to fetch from the nearest borehole which wasn’t fit for consumption and used to attack our children and adults with water related illnesses.” Added Moline Akoth.

On the other hand is Christabell Onyango Owuor a resident in Kanyada, within Ogongo Katuma in Homabay County, She says they have been suffering for clean water.

This great achievement by Homabay county government ld by Governor Gladys Wanga comes amidst push by BUNGE LA WANANCHI for the government to provide for clean water in the region.
