The National Assembly has approved the nomination of East African Community Affairs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul Moe and Attorney General Dorcas Oduor.
The two nominees, who were vetted by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments on Friday last week, are awaiting the gazettement of their appointment before being sworn in.
Oduor has extensive legal experience spanning more than thirty years in the public sector. She has served as a jurist and contributed immensely to the development of law in Kenya through litigation, draughtsman, and legal advisories.
She previously served as the Director of Public Prosecutions and is in line to become Kenya’s first female Attorney General.
Askul, on the other hand, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Governance and Ethics.
She previously served as a County Executive Committee Member in the Turkana County Government in charge of Water, Irrigation, Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
