68-Year-Old Woman Defiled And Killed In Homa Bay

A 68-year-old woman was attacked and killed by unknown assailants at her home in Nyagidha village, Homa Bay County on Monday night.

The body of the woman, identified as Wilkister Odanga, was discovered on Tuesday by one of her relatives who had gone to check on her.

Wilkister, who was deaf and dumb, was found lying on her bed with bruises on her face and is believed to have been raped by her attackers.

Nothing was taken from the victim’s home during Monday night’s attack. Wilkister had been living alone in the house since the death of her husband more than a decade ago, and her inability to speak or hear put her at risk.

Her body has been taken to the Homa Bay mortuary for a post-mortem and police have launched an investigation into the death.
