Pregnant Woman Dies Mysteriously In Church

A family in Kisumu is mourning after their kin, a middle-aged woman died mysteriously on Sunday.

The lady who has been identified as Florence Akinyi Aoko was staying with a man at Gospel Faith Church in Kisumu’s Kanyamedha area until her death.

According to Akinyi’s uncle Tom Okello, the family was notified of her death on Sunday morning but there were conflicting statements on what caused her death.

“There are conflicting reports about how she died. Some say she was killed by a live electric wire while mopping the church, while others claim that cleaning had been done on Saturday evening, making this unlikely.

“Another version is that she was shocked by a microphone while leading praise. Unfortunately, the exact circumstances remain unclear as those present have not provided a definitive explanation,” Okello told the media.

Reports indicate that Akinyi was pregnant when she died and the unborn baby also succumbed during the incident.

Her family has raised concern about the man Akinyi was staying with noting that he has been unresponsive following the death and his phone has been switched off.

The body of Akinyi was moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
