Delay In Elderly Stipends

Elders in Kanyamwa, Ndhiwa sub-county, Homabay county want the national government to find a way of paying their elderly stipends. The elders had been receiving Kshs. 2000 from the government, but they have not received any cent since June last year.

Speaking on behalf of the elders, Mzee Samson Jarongo Okumu said that they have been going through hard times since June last year, since at his own personal level, he is too old and he cannot do any job to help sustain himself.

He has urged ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta to find a way of helping them out of the situation.
