Four people have been arrested by the police in Homabay County, as they are linked to robbery cases that have been witnessed in around the county. This brings the total number of those who have been arrested so far in the ongoing crackdown to 12.
The four were arrested in different places around the county in a crackdown that was launched by the DCI. The other eight were arrested last week after being linked to the stealing of electronics whose value hasn’t been determined.
Reports indicate that the robbers’ aim is to steal electronics and other valuable items, including breaking into shops and churches.
According to Homabay County DCI boss Abed Kavoo, the robbers are led by their boss who has been rotating through Homabay, Kisumu, Kisii, Nyamira and Migori counties as a way of hiding his deeds from the residents.
Kavoo said that the robbers have been stealing properties from Homabay residents and sending them to their boss, who later sells them out. The four suspects have been detained at Homabay police station awaiting arraignment in court.
