A tweet with a video clip claiming that a hospital with a leaking roof was filmed in Kenya is False

FALSE : A video clip of a patient on oxygen lying in a hospital ward with a leaking roof was not recorded in  Kenya.

 

A tweet with a video clip claiming that a hospital with a leaking roof is from Kenya False.

 

In the tweet, the author decries the pathetic state of the leaking hospital roof and further tags Kenya’s health and state officials.

 

In the video, a bedridden patient is connected to an oxygen machine while the roof of the hospital ward is heavily leaking in the aftermath of a rainfall downpour. 

 

The video circulating online was uploaded to You-Tube on March 12, 2021 with a caption explaining that it was filmed at a health facility in Ghana.

 

In a report filled on March 25, 2021 by France 24,  a Ghanaian Health Official  acknowledged that the clip in question was indeed recorded in Ghana.

 

According to the official, the video was captured by nurses who were unable to relocate the patient because of his medical and because he  was also hooked up to an oxygen cylinder. 

 

He added that the video was recorded at Onwe Public Hospital in Ashanti Region. 

 

Sky FM finds that the claim of a video clip showing leaking through a hospital roof  is from Kenya is false.
