Fishermen Discover Five Bombs

Fishermen in Litare beach, Rusinga Island in Homabay County came across five bombs at the time they were in their daily fishing escapades in Lake Victoria.
The five bombs were found by the fishermen who were fishing omena next to Ngodhe beach, when they found a heavy metallic box which was carrying those bombs.
Speaking about the incident, Litare beach management unit chairperson Isaiah Ochieng’ explained that the fishermen discovered the weight of the boat at the time they started the engine but they were filled with happiness thinking that they had a huge catch.
Ochieng’ said that he was informed about the incident by the fishermen and he in turn informed police from Mbita who arrived immediately and picked the bombs.
The fishermen however said that bombs have been found at the beach oftenly as they said that even last month, six bombs were discovered at the beach.
Mbita sub-county police commander Stanly Atavachi said that the bombs are under maximum security as they go on with investigations.
