Sugarcane farmers under the umbrella Kenya Sugarcane Growers Association has threatened to sue sugar factory owners who will try to lower sugarcane prices in the country.
The Association’s secretary general Richard Ogendo said that they will not accept the move, as he urged the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya to announce the correct sugarcane prices that should be used in the country.
He also spoke about sugar that is being imported from other countries which he said has really affected sugarcane farming in the country.
