Following complaints by the Kisumu Contractors and Suppliers Association that they have not been paid for the jobs they have done, the County Government of Kisumu confirmed that Ksh. 300 million have already been put in place and they will be paid before the end of this week.

This was confirmed by the Kisumu County Executive Committee Member in charge of Finance George Okong’o who promised that they have already gotten money for doing such payments as fast as possible.

Okong’o who was speaking moments after the contractors and suppliers stormed his office to inquire why they haven’t been paid, though he said that he wasn’t happy with their norm of making noise, hurling abuses and storming the office, as he urged them to refrain from such acts and in case their is any issue, they sit down and discuss.

Lastly, he advised them not to mix business and politics since that may negatively affect their businesses.
