The Kenya Private Schools Association have urged the Teachers Service Commission to allow them hire the services of other experts who are not teachers by profession to help in nurturing talents in a move to ensure the success of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
Speaking to journalists in Kisumu, the KEPSA chair Charles Ochome Owoko said that nurturing talents is not a must that be done by somebody who attended a teachers college but can be done by experts in the same field.
However, Ochome praised the CS for Education Prof. George Magoha for promising to give private schools that have prepared good infrastructure to also enroll students for Junior Secondary School early next year.
He finished by warning politicians who promised to do away with CBC immediately they take over government, as he said that the government has invested a lot on CBC for the past five years and it shouldn’t be interfered with at the moment.
