Odinga met with Odhiambo on Wednesday in the company of lawyers Paul Mwangi, Julie Soweto, and Dan Maanzo (Senator, Makueni).
He praised Odhiambo for her dedication to promoting the rule of law and good governance in Kenya.
“I wish her all the best and she has my full support,” Odinga said in a comment.
Odhiambo shared her appreciation for Odinga’s endorsement, saying that history was on the horizon, implying she could become the first female LSK President in elections slated for Thursday.
“Honored by and deeply grateful for the emphatic endorsement by Raila Odinga in our bid for a Stable Progressive Bar. History is on the horizon,” she stated.
The LSK Vice President is one of the five candidates vying to succeed Eric Theuri, whose term ends in March 2024 after succeeding Nelson Havi in March 2022.
Serving as the LSK Vice President since 2022, she has been vocal about the challenges facing the legal fraternity and the judiciary.
She has also been championing the welfare and rights of lawyers, especially the young and female ones.
Odhiambo promised to transform LSK into a more inclusive, accountable, and progressive institution if she wins the 51st presidency.
She will be facing Odhiambo Faith Mony Aoko, Daudi Carolyne Kamende, Manyonge Peter Wanyama, Mboce Harriet Njoki, and Ng’etich Bernhard Kipkoech in Thursday’s election
