Bishop Wanjiru: Church service is on despite wall destruction

Jesus is Alive Ministries pastor Bishop Margaret Wanjiru says church services will continue uninterrupted despite the demolition at her church.
Taking to her X account, the former Nairobi governor aspirant assured the church’s members that they would still have their conference on Wednesday.
“Our Abib Conference continues today from 5pm-7.30pm. Abib is a season of new beginnings and God has purposed to make His glory manifested through us,” she said in the post.
Bishop Wanjiru quoted Isaiah 60:2: “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people, but the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you.”
The preacher had earlier voiced her displeasure over the destruction of Jesus is Alive Ministries located along Haile Selassie Avenue.
The damage was allegedly caused by unidentified intruders.
Prior to the destruction, Wanjiru claimed the individuals attacked her and stole her phone.
The pastor recounted the events saying she needed hospital attention for injuries she suffered.
She said she suffered serious injuries during the confrontation as she attempted to stop the intruders from carrying out the demolition.
Wanjiru, who was accompanied by area Member of Parliament Amos Mwago, claimed the demolition was politically motivated.
Armed police were present as the group brought down a wall.
“I wasn’t campaigning to be repaid like this. It is very sad that this is the government that we campaigned for. I’m yet to believe that they can do this to me,” she said as she fought back tears.
Bishop Wanjiru alleged that the demolishers claimed they had been sent by an influential person to bring down the church wall on account of having been constructed on government land.
On February 10, 2024, the demolishers arrived at the church grounds but were prevented from proceeding with the demolition because of a wedding ceremony, Wanjiru said.
“It is because the court case is coming up, so they are trying to protect themselves. They are trying to cover up themselves which won’t work,” she claimed.
