A former staffer at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KHN) has been convicted of stealing medical drugs from the health facility during her stint.
According to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Magdaline Wambui Nganga was nabbed at the gate by security while carrying a cache of medical drugs that included seven packets of Nepilet Nebivolon 5mg drugs, two packets of Atacand Candesartan 8mg drugs, 2 packets of AIRTAL 100mg drugs, two packets of Sildenafil 25g and one packet of Lamontrigine Lamictal 100mg.

The suspect faced two counts of stealing by a servant contrary to section 281 of the penal code and handling stolen property contrary to section 322(1) as read with section 322(2) of the penal code.
Milimani Chief Magistrate Hon. Susan Shitubi, while delivering the verdict on Thursday, May 23 said that evidence presented in court showed that the medical supplies came into the possession of the accused person by virtue of her employment.
“The court further heard that the accused was found carrying the drugs by security officers while leaving the Hospital,” the ODPP said on Thursday. The matter is scheduled for sentencing on May 28, 2024
