WE WANT CLEAN WATER

South Sakwa residents in Awendo Sub-County are staying in fear of drinking dirty water which can lead them to contracting diseases since there are no places where they can get clean water as per now in the area.

Led by Martine Ondong’, the residents say that they risk contracting diseases like cholera. Ondong’ says that somebody recently deposited faeces in the stream that they were fetching water, something that now forces them to walk several meters so as to get clean water.

They urged Migori County Government through the Ministry of Water to come to their aid by drilling for them clean water. Ondong’ said that the government should take this issue importantly and ensure that Awendo residents get clean water.
