Kibro Migosi Beach Management Unit BMU chairperson Joel Maulidhi has called upon elected learders in Migori County to come out and help them raise Ksh. 50,000 fine to help release four Kenyan fishermen who are detained in Tanzania.
Speaking to Sky fm, Maulidhi said that as fishermen, they have tried their best to get their fellows released but to no avail since they do not have the amount needed for the fishermen to be granted their freedom. He said they have been in discussion with the Tanzanian police and they came to an agreement that they pay ksh. 50,000 fine for their fellows to be released, an amount they have not been able to raise upto now.
They requested the Migori County governor, their MP and MCA to take up the matter and help them raise that amount. The four fishermen were arrested one month ago by the Tanzanian police while they were fishing in Lake Victoria.
