DOES COVID – 19 BOOSTER REDUCE IMMUNITY?

There have been claims that Covid – 19 booster vaccine causes immunity. Sky FM looked into the claim and found it to be false. However more details we got indicated that frequent intake reduces immunity.
Immunity – a condition of being able to resist a particular disease especially through preventing development of a pathogenic microorganism or by counteracting the effects of its products.
Covid booster shot is an additional dose of a vaccine given after the protection provided by the original shot(s) has begun to decrease over time. The booster helps people maintain strong protection from severe corona virus disease.
Research from European Union regulators warned that frequent Covid-19 booster shots could adversely affect the immune response and may not be feasible.
Repeat booster doses every four months could eventually weaken the immune response and tire out people, according to the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Instead, countries should leave more time between booster programs and tie them to the onset of the cold season in each hemisphere, following the blueprint set out by influenza vaccination strategies, the agency said.
According to Marco Cavaleri, the EMA head of biological health threats and vaccines strategy is that boosters can be done once, or maybe twice, but it’s not something that we can think should be repeated constantly.
The CDC recommends that people who are vaccinated get a booster dose when they are eligible, and that they stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.
